One must picture a person’s face to kill them using the Death Note. Then, it could be presumed, that it was very fortunate (or perhaps unfortunate) that Yagami Raito was born blind. That's the summary I can up with. It should basically follow the plot of Death Note, Raito finds the Death Note, and when Ryuk shows up the Shinigami tells him what it is. He can't use it though, because he's never seen a person's face. --Nilah

Raito is a grownup and none of the events of the actual series took place. Raito did gorw up and get a job in the NPA, but quickly grew bored working as a policemen, and switched to designing computer programs for the government. Still unbearably bored with life however, he starts hacking into government files as a hobby, just to see if he can, but is disgusted with the blatant corruption he finds. One day, finally plain sick of it all, he infects the U.S. FBI computer information system with a computer virus he calls Deathnote. Angry and afraid, the FBI immediately begins to search for the hacker, but are unable to find any clues or stop the Deathnote virus (opportunity for Ray and Misori to be in the fic, hint hint). Finally, desperate, they call in L, whose involvement is immediately broadcast over the world as a scare tactic. Raito takes it as a personal challenge, and rising to the occasion, he slowly begins corrupting government systems all over the world, till he literally controls the internet, world TV broadcasts, and just about everything that is run through computers, with the Deathnote virus getting more complicated and destructive along the way. The only system he hasn't hacked is L's, but he's getting closer. Meanwhile, L is slowly making progress on the case as a world of technology around him begins bowing in submission, as he closes in on the genuis hacker the world only knows as Kira...

Raito his captured by JigSaw (sort of a cross over with Saw, but nothing from the movies has to be mentioned, it's just that sort of killer) and and the voicerecorder says something about him 'Having a brilliant mind, and not appreciating what he's been given by looking down on others and thinking life is boring. Now he's got to use the mind he hold in such high regard to live' so the task he has to do must be genius worthy. But Raito will get out alive, and when he does, he goes to the cops. L's working on the case, of course, and interviews Raito about his case over the computer. Raito says that he's pretty sure JigSaw will come after him again. L asks why, and Raito responds with something to the affect of 'Because I didn't learn the lesson he wanted me to. I still don't cherish my life.' Then of course, Raito is taken onto the case as an asset as well as for his protection. It would be cool if there were LxRaito yaoi, but I think it would be a great story without that too.

Whammy is the largest, most powerful country, but has made itself some enemies over the years. Yet when it is attacked by a new, outside force (anything you like other than the Shinigami or Kiras), it is barely able to defend itself, and is getting desperate for anything that may bring them victory in the face of overwhelming odds. Thus, the Shinigami realm comes in. The Shinigami realm is a small island next to Whammy, with just a mile of ocean separating the two lands. However, nobody ever goes there, because of the terrible monsters (Shinigami) that lurk and prey upon humans. However, heir to the throne L has heard of the legend of the Deathnote, and believes it may be just the weapon they need in order to save Whammy. He goes on a journey to the island (whether he is with or without companions is your choice) to find the Deathnote, but to his surprise, finds more than just monsters. He discovers a race of people that coexist with the creatures on the island, that know themselves only as Kira… (requesting L x Raito, but it’s up to you. ^ ^)

When Raito was really young, his family took a vacation to America, and somehow or another, he got lost and left behind. Living a life on the streets, he got picked up by a gang member, and was raised in the mob and mafia environment. Eventually he becomes an assassin for the "family", and quickly makes himself famous in the underground. Meanwhile, L is having difficulties with a case involving an at large terrorist. He knows where the man is and has plenty of evidence that would send him to death row, but the man is being protected by a neutral country the FBI doesn't dare start up hostilities with. But L isn't so willing to let the man god free. He calls in Aiber and Wedy, asking for advice, and gets told the same thing. Hire an assassin. And L, of course, will settle for nothing but the best. And Raito can never be anything but the best. Thus, an odd business partnership begins.

Raito held a secret: he could see into the future. He saw conspiracies unfold, governments built and toppled, wars waged and lost, and deaths. He especially saw deaths – from world leaders being assassinated to children dying in Africa. He saw it all from afar – in the safety of his own home – but when he touches another’s skin… He saw his next-door neighbour get run over by a car. Yet, despite his power, there was. Nothing. He. Could. Do. About. It. He could not control his ability. He could not prevent the events from happening. However, upon discovering the Death Note, new possibilities opened up to him. Raito can now manipulate events to his – and the world’s – favour, even though he would have to sacrifice a life or two in the process. And L would of course have something to say about this strange new course the world is taking.

LxRaito. Things get complicated enough with L as L and Raito as Raito. But, in the next life, their souls and bodies get swapped as they move on as true divine punishment on Raito. Raito's body houses L's soul (and Raito still gets to keep his god-complex and all) while L's body houses Raito's soul (while L continues to be a cake-loving insomniac). So, when Raito (in L's body), an eighteen-year-old teen raised in the slums, meets L (in Raito's body), a young, revered detective at the age of 22, the two have an initial conflict (somehow involving implied yaoi or something like that) that gets them both in jail, but not before L discover's Raito's hidden potential... a true gem in the rough. L becomes Raito's mentor, hoping to obtain the younger man as a fellow detective (being a lover is a plus)

"Back of the Book" Summary: Lawliet Darcy, a very smart, but to be honest, broke 23 year old needs a job. A 'friend' recommends him to another friend who just so happens to be the boss of Light Yagami. Ah... The clashing of personalities. Let the onion layer peeling commence!
"Real" Plot: Light, our perfect student, works at a club as a stripper/dancer by night, and student and [excercise] pole dancing instructor by day. Sound interesting, ne? Let's also say that Lawliet needs a job and happens to have good dancing skills, might come with knowing capoeira, and his so-called friend refers him to the manager of the club Light works in... Hence where 'let the onion layer peeling commence.' This fic will mainly be weird incidents between Light and Lawliet, no romance between them right away... I'm pretty sure they won't get along THAT well. But yeah. It's time to discover and prettier L [Eru-chan]. Rating: M Pairing: LightxL or LxLightxL Notes: I chose L’s name to be ‘Lawliet Darcy’, making his real last name his first name in the story. Lawliet Darcy would pretty much mean ‘Darkness’s Law’ or something along those lines. I thought it would be appropriate just as Light Yagami means ‘Death God’s Moon’. B's mental illness is discovered early and when he his placed in an asylum he thinks he may just kill himself from boredom. That is, until, Light Yagami a young man who has a split personality and as so far as the doctors can guess schizophrenia (why else would he claim to see and talk to Shinigami?) joins the many inhabitants of the asylum. As B comes to know Light, Kira, and the Shinigami Ryuk he finds that he's not to terribly bored anymore. Still crazy, but not bored in the least. And when L's yearly visit comes around he is in for a surprise.

BB follows L to Japan, always trying to prove his worth to the detective, while following him around.
After running into the young genius Yagami Raito, BB decides that the cases that L gives him to keep the stalker off his back, cut into his stalking-time and, using a good opportunity and not really thinking it through, he simply kidnaps Raito and orders the boy to solve the cases that L sends to him.
Raito, not having another choice, obeys the obsessed man and, locked up in a luxurious apartment somewhere in America, solves case after case, which are getting more and more difficult. This catches L's attention and he starts to pay more attention to BB, but after some time the detectives notices that something is decidedly wrong.
After finally meeting Raito, he is intrigued by the youth who is his equal, but any kind of relationship between them is made difficult by Raito's loathing of BB, who looks exactly like L. (Pairing: LxRaito)

When she was a toddler, Sayu got into an accident which was blamed on Raito, who, as the older one and the genius, should have been more responsible.
Angrily Raito thought: 'If being a genius gets me into trouble, then I won't be one anymore!' Thinking like this he hid his intelligence from the world, while privately he learns and studies to allevate his boredom. Years later, while in High School, he finds a riddle-booklet on his way home and, bored, he solves every riddle in it, startled to find that they're challenging. In it there's the instruction that, in case every riddle is solved correctly, it could be sent to an adress and some kind of organisation would send another booklet back. Interested Raito sends the riddles he solved and, true to their word, the organisation sends back the next volume with the same instruction in it. What the genius doesn't know, though, is that the riddles he innocently solves are codes the government uses and that the organisation that 'kindly' keeps him from getting bored, are a criminal organisation called the Shinigami.
Encryptor L is startled that more and more government codes are being broken (some of them being his own) and starts to investigate. A captured member of the Shinigami talks and so L hears about 'Kira', the decoder of the Shinigami, whose identity is unknown to everyone. Furious, the government decides to put a bounty on Kira's head, despite L's protests and unknown to Raito, who is growing more and more suspicios about the organisation, his facade of being a normal boy could very well save his life as L and the government race to find out Kira's identity first.(Pairing:LxRaito)

It's an AU, and it focuses on Misa, Light, and maybe L. (depending on the author)Misa is the granddaughter of multi-billionaire Rem, who meets Light at a charity ball. She falls in love at first sight with the handsome teen, and is convinced that he loves her back. So she begs her grandmother to arrange the marriage between her and Light. However, when Rem approaches 'Misa-Misa's perfect husband', the old lady realizes that her granddaughter is in love with a facade, and that Light will never marry someone like Misa. But what Misa wants, she must get. Rem sought to keep her only relative happy, so the billionaire bribes Light to marry Misa. He agrees.
Not knowing this, Misa walks happily to the altar, thinking that she's going to get her happy ending. After a (un)satisfying honeymoon, the 'magic' begins
to fade. Misa starts realizing that her dreams and reality are totally different things. Unwilling to give up, Misa tries pleasing her husband, from reading books to becoming his slave, Light still doesn't appreciate her. However, she vows that one day Light will love her, and works harder to please him. And somehow, L just starts popping up after the marriage. For how long and the relationships with various characters can be determined by the author. As
long as the quirky genius is another hindrance to Misa's goal and someone that Light actually enjoys being around.
The story can go whichever direction after this, but I do hope that Misa and Light will remain together, despite him not loving the blonde. I also hope that Misa can learn to cope with living with the real Light that she once craved for so badly. Basically, I want Misa to grow from this hasty mistake. (not that I'm saying that she doesn't love her husband)

Summery: What if things had gone a little differently? What if one day, one event out of place, changed everything? What if Jealous hadn’t saved Misa, what if Jealous died for Light? What would change, who would have Ryuk’s death note, would criminals all over the world still die if the circumstances surrounding how Light got the death note and who came attached to that note were different? (btw: Misa is dead, because no one saved her, so no Misa in this fic.) And just because this is a personal lust of mine, if someone actually takes this bunny on they don’t have to add this, but I want to see Light dressing a bit goth, who prefers white and not black in clothing choice and maybe dyed red hair - to match his red shinigami eyes.

Probably just a One-Shot, unless the author wants to continue it. Raito and L are friends. Just friends, (despite L's best efforts) and Raito is in denial. Too bad he pisses Mello off. So Mello extracts revenge -namely spiing Raito's food/drink at a restaurant with aphrodisiacs. Of course, they start to have affect, Raito starts to feel 'sick' and...lemon. How it gets there is up to you. But I want a LxRaito (in that order!) lemon. :P So yeah. 'Tis all.
